Rules & Checklist

• Hunters must follow all IDNR Laws and Regulations at all times.
• Hunters Must wear safety harnesses on the stands.
• Deer Plain strongly encourages harvesting of does.
• Getting down from stands and walking around is prohibited. (We don't want to bump deer)
• Everything you take into the woods must be removed, including scent wafers and ect.
• Remainder of your balance is due upon arrival. Lodging will be collected before you leave.
• Hunters will be given hunting rules and a waiver to sign before hunting, all hunters must sign the waiver, guardians must sign for minors.
• Bucks taken with bow must gross at least 130 inches and 140 inches for shotgun hunters.
• A hit or wounded deer is considered a dead deer. We will help track and look for your deer. PLEASE make your shot a good one!

Hunters Check List and Supplies

1. Permit, License, Habitat Stamp, Safety card if born on/after Jan. 1, 1980.
2. Safety belt, Harness or Safety Vest.
3. Bow and or Gun cases must be used at all times (ILL Law)
4. Rubber boots or scent lock boots and boot dryer
5. Camo clothes; we recommend scent free or scent lock suites of some sort.
6. Scent free soap and detergent.
7. Rain gear w/hat.
8. Pull rope, gun or bow holder.
9. Binoculars and Range Finder.
10. Cell Phone or Calling Card or Both.
11. Motorola Radio if you have one (1 per person)
12. Grunt calls, rattling bags, scents, two stands, gloves, face mask, flash lights, etc.
13. Personal supplies: sleeping bag, first aid, toothpaste, scent free deodorant, etc.
14. Drinks, Snacks, Coolers.
15. GUN HUNTERS MUST BRING ORANGE.
